FAQ
Question
Do I need a license of The Connector for each user I have in JIRA?
Response
No. You will need a license of The Connector for each installation of Microsoft Project you wish to have the JIRA toolbar in. Typically you will need more user licenses for JIRA than you will for The Connector as developers and other basic JIRA users will not need to interact with a project plan. A single license of The Connector allows for unlimited JIRA instances, unlimited projects, unlimited issues and unlimited resources (JIRA users).
Question
When I try to login into JIRA from The Connector, I get an error message "The HTTP service located at http://localhost/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2 is too busy."?
Response
In order for The Connector to communicate with JIRA, you must turn on the "Accept remote API calls" under JIRA's General Configuration screen in the Administration area. This will enable JIRA's web services which are what The Connector uses to exchange data with JIRA.
Question
I've installed The Connector but when I launch Microsoft Project, I don't see the JIRA toolbar?
Response
The Connector is a Microsoft Office COM Add-In and certain environments will have security settings that will prevent The Connector from running. To ensure you have the correct settings, go to the Microsoft Project menubar and select "Tools --> Options". Select the "Security" tab and press the "Macro Security…" button. Under the "Trusted Publishers", ensure that the "Trust all installed add-in and templates" option is checked. Restart Micrsoft Project and The Connector should initialize and the toolbar should show.
